A Different Christmas

At twenty-three past noon,
I sit and ponder in my room.
Should I go downstairs to spread Christmas cheer,
Or spend my holiday up in here?

As I sit and think, I can hear downstairs,
The voices of the adults yelling down there.
It makes me wonder how my day shall go,
When happy thoughts are toned so low.

Alas, I decide to stay up here,
Where the unhappy voices can't come too near.
With a sigh, I turn, but then think with a smirk,
At least I have my laptop to make the day work.
Sort of my Christmas. Right now it's 12:42 and no one has opened presents. I feel a little sad, but I decided to write this so you guys can kinda imagine Christmas at my house. We have all sorts of decorations, baking the chicken, leaving cookies for Santa (that coincidentally I'm nominated to eat), but the feeling's just not there this year.
